This morning was like any morning. Started my computer, made some coffee and ready for work…My COMPUTER WAS DEAD!!! My cat Winston was shocked! Not literally though.
There were no signs of life or lights. After research, Google and Wisdom from the past, all signs pointed towards dead power supply. Did the Paper clip power supply test, search Google or your favorite search engine, no movement from the power supply fan. Opened up another computer and unhooked the 24 pin from its motherboard, moved the two close enough together and connected it to my non-working computers motherboard just to be sure it wasn’t a bigger issue. All the lights on the board came on! Time to pick up a new power supply.
Purchased a new power supply. EVGA 650. This next step is not for the squeamish. Computer guts everywhere.
